![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The book is odd, and it just works, really going above expectations from what a quick blurb can give you. The plot is metered and springs unexpected turns that just really work, even the really, really unexpected ones. The characters are mismatched, yet have a great chemistry and a lot of unexpected depth. The idea is silly, and the Foley isn’t here to tell you otherwise – she’s here to ride that wave and steer the story in a way that it can embrace that while becoming something more. The tiring possibilities the concept raises are clearly noted by the author, who attempts to assuage those doubts early on with an infectious kind of absurdist humor. The legend of King Arthur has been given a modern twist as the folk-tale is transmuted into an urban fantasy setting, giving the story a whole new edge. But what exactly is Excalibur, and how dangerous is it in the wrong hands? Find out in The Secret of Excalibur by Sahara Foley. ![]() ![]() Linton aka Lily Linton continues in this third installment. The adventures of Rikkard Ambrose and his secretary Mr. I’m not saying it was a terrible read because It really was entertaining throughout but some parts felt quite ridiculously annoying and unrealistic especially Lily’s new found bold personality. Although I immensely enjoyed the overall story, I had some issues with the plot development and also with the main protagonist. But coming to this one, I have mixed feelings. I was pretty excited to read this book because I loved the first two books which was totally hilarious and adventurous. ![]() In the Eye Of the Storm both Lily and Ambrose has some crazy adventures in the deserts of Egypt but in this book they embark on a new journey to find a treasure in the wild jungle of South-America. Well, after many stop-start attempts, I have finished Rebecca after nearly ten years! Why has it been so difficult, you may ask? It is a long story but it has to do with Jane Eyre being one my most favourite books and a very impressionable and eccentric favourite Literature teacher in high school who went a rant one day about how Rebecca was simply ripped off of Jane Eyre. ![]() ![]() While this book has a traditional fantasy world, it's still rich and extensive. The bond between Eragon and Saphira is fantastic and heartwarming and Saphira is so EPIC. ![]() I love books with dragons, but it's so difficult to find amazing ones. My favourite part is obviously the dragons.
